The reason why green laser pointers are the most used when high visibility is required; This is because the photoreceptors in the human eye (the cones) are more sensitive to green light than to light of other colors (or wavelengths). Therefore, a beam of light from a green laser can be seen with more intensity or brightness than the equivalent of the same power in other colors, such as red or violet.
